Four Seasons Resort Lanai is the beach resort on Lanai, set on a bluff above Hulopoe Bay, a marine preserve on the island's south coast. It has 213 rooms and suites in low-rise buildings, two pools, Nobu Lanai, Osteria Mozza Lanai and a Jack Nicklaus golf course, on an island of about 3,100 people with no traffic lights. Booked through a Preferred Partner advisor, a stay adds daily breakfast for two, a $100 hotel credit, upgrade priority and VIP recognition, at the same rate Four Seasons publishes.

The program benefits are the same at every hotel. What changes is what they are worth. This is how each one works at this property.
Full breakfast for two per bedroom at Osteria Mozza Lanai, which serves breakfast from 7:00 to 11:00 am, or through in-room dining on your lanai. The menu is à la carte, with pastries from the oven, eggs in purgatory, smoked salmon crostone and sourdough waffles. There is nowhere to eat within walking distance of the resort, so this benefit is used every day.
One credit per stay to use at the restaurants, bars or spa. Nobu Lanai and Osteria Mozza are priced at the top end, so think of it as a contribution to one dinner or a spa treatment, and a welcome one.
A one-category upgrade when available at check-in. Standard rooms are the same size across categories, so an upgrade here means a better view: from garden to resort view, or from ocean view to prime oceanfront.
Priority for both. Lanai Air and ferry times do not always line up with check-in and checkout, so this is worth having on both ends of the stay.
A welcome amenity and a VIP note on the reservation. We also send the resort your flight details, occasion and room preferences ahead of time.
Preferred Partner benefits apply on top of the resort's own offers, including the Lanai Air flights from Honolulu that come with every room booking. We check which offers are available for your dates when we quote.
Standard rooms are all the same size, 663 to 734 sq ft, with a king bed or two doubles and a private lanai. What you pay for is the view, which runs from the gardens to the full sweep of Hulopoe Bay. Suites add a living room and, in most cases, a sofa bed.
The lowest rate at the resort, facing the themed gardens. It is the quietest and most secluded position, and the sensible choice if you plan to spend your days at the beach, the pools or out on the island.
The same room with an angled view of the Pacific from the lanai. It costs less than prime oceanfront and still gives you the sea from bed. A resort-view category sits between this and garden view, with a partial ocean view across the gardens and pools.
The front row, closest to the water, with a clear view of the bay. In winter you can watch for whales from the lanai, and you fall asleep to the sound of the waves.
A larger open-plan suite of 935 to 1,017 sq ft with a king bed and a panoramic ocean view. More room to spread out without paying for a second room you will not use.
A one-bedroom suite of 1,280 to 1,465 sq ft with a king bed and a sofa bed in a separate living room, in garden, ocean-view or oceanfront positions. Standard rooms take two adults and one child, so this is the category for a family of four.
The top-floor Penthouse Prime Oceanfront Suite is 1,500 sq ft. Above it are the specialty suites, including the 2,300 sq ft Hulopoe Presidential Suite and the Alii Royal Suite, at 3,984 sq ft with two king bedrooms.
The buildings are low-rise, four storeys at most. Tell us whether you would rather be on the ground floor or higher up, and whether you want to be near the family pool or away from it, and we will request it. Accessible rooms are available in garden-view, ocean-view and prime oceanfront categories.
Round-trip flights from Honolulu on Lanai Air are included with every room booking for arrivals up to 31 December 2027. A standard room covers two adults and one child, and Ohana, penthouse and specialty suites cover four people. Flights must be requested at least seven days ahead, so send us your mainland flight times as soon as you have them.
Lanai Air operates from Honolulu between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm. If your flight arrives later than that, plan a night on Oahu or a commercial flight on Mokulele instead.
Four Seasons has two resorts on the island. This one is on the beach and welcomes families. Sensei Lanai is an adults-only wellness retreat in the cool uplands at Koele, about 1,600 ft above sea level and 20 minutes away. Choose this one for the ocean, golf and children, and Sensei for quiet and spa time. A free shuttle links the two, and you can book dinner at Sensei by Nobu if everyone in your party is over 16.
There is no resort fee. Hawaii's lodging taxes add about 18.7 percent to the room rate: 11 percent state accommodation tax, 3 percent Maui County accommodation tax and 4.712 percent general excise tax. We give you the full total with your quote.
There are two dinner restaurants at the resort and very few elsewhere on the island. Book Osteria Mozza and Nobu Lanai ahead, especially the teppan tables at Nobu. In Lanai City, the grill at Hotel Lanai is the main alternative, and its tables go quickly too.
Snorkel gear is free to borrow at the beach. The Kids For All Seasons club is complimentary. Three walking trails start at the resort, each about an hour, including the path to Puu Pehe. Guided tours of the Lanai Cat Sanctuary are complimentary for resort guests three times a week.
Kids For All Seasons takes children aged 5 to 12 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a reservation 24 hours ahead. Under-17s play Manele Golf Course free with an adult after noon. The resort can stock the room with a cot, nappies and a bottle warmer if we ask at booking. Bring any children's medicine with you: the nearest pharmacy is in Lanai City.
Lanai has about 30 miles of paved road. Everything beyond it, including Keahiakawelo and the north shore beaches, is on rough dirt tracks. Hire a Jeep or take the resort's guided 4x4 tour, and keep the rest of the stay for the beach.
There are five places to eat and drink, plus in-room dining. Osteria Mozza Lanai opened in November 2025 after a full redesign of the main restaurant, and now serves breakfast as well as dinner. More than three quarters of the ingredients come from Hawaii, including greens from Sensei Farms on the island.
Nancy Silverton's first restaurant in Hawaii, in an open-air dining room above the bay. Dinner brings pizzas from a kiawe-wood oven, a mozzarella bar, fresh pasta and a 600-bottle wine list. Breakfast runs from 7:00 to 11:00 am, and this is where the Preferred Partner breakfast is taken.
Sushi, teppanyaki and the Nobu signatures, with indoor and terrace tables and a bar for sake and cocktails. Arrive at sunset, when the torches are lit.
Fresh, organic, mostly local cooking beside the pool, with dishes such as grilled local fish and cauliflower-crust pizza. The natural choice for lunch, and it delivers to the adults-only pool.
An open-air lounge serving Hawaiian coffee and light breakfast in the morning, then salads, sandwiches, house-made gelato and cocktails through the day. No reservation needed.
Salads, sandwiches and island dishes at the golf clubhouse, on a cliff above the ocean. Worth a lunch even if you do not play.
The resort sits just above Hulopoe Beach, with the pools and gardens between the rooms and the sand. Staff set up loungers, water and sunscreen at both the pools and the beach.
A white-sand beach a few minutes' walk below the resort, in a protected marine preserve. It is a public beach, with loungers and umbrellas set up for resort guests. Snorkelling is best on the left side of the bay as you face the sea. Currents can be strong at times, so check with the beach staff. There are tide pools to explore at the edge of the bay. Spinner dolphins often come into the bay.
The large lagoon-style main pool, set among palms, with hot tubs and food and drink service from Malibu Farm.
A smaller, gated pool a short walk from the main one, with a waterfall, a hot tub and private cabanas that can be reserved. It is the quiet part of the resort.
Eight treatment rooms and four couples' suites, with a eucalyptus steam room and a cedar sauna. Treatments draw on the ocean and on Hawaiian tradition. The fitness centre has ocean views, and classes include aerial yoga, tai chi and sound baths.
Manele Golf Course is a Jack Nicklaus design, par 72 and 7,039 yards, built on cliffs above the sea. The 12th hole plays from a tee 150 ft above the water. There are three tennis courts, two hard and one clay, plus pickleball and lessons.
The resort has its own observatory for stargazing and a Hawaiian culture programme with lei-making, hula and ukulele. It also arranges catamaran sails, scuba diving, horse riding, archery, clay shooting and the zipline and ropes course at Lanai Adventure Park, in the uplands near Sensei.
Lanai is warm all year. The choice is mainly about whales, school holidays and price.
There are no flights to Lanai from the mainland. You come through Honolulu by air or through Maui by ferry. The resort arranges transfers from the airport and the harbour, and needs your arrival details at least 72 hours ahead.
Lanai is small and almost empty, which is the reason to come. A resort shuttle runs to Lanai City through the day, and one day with a 4x4 covers the rest.
The sea stack at the east end of Hulopoe Bay, known as Sweetheart Rock. The clifftop path from the beach takes about ten minutes. Go at sunrise or late afternoon.
The island's only town, built for the pineapple plantation, with shops, galleries and cafés around the Cook pines of Dole Park. The Lanai Culture and Heritage Center explains the island's history.
More than 700 rescued cats on a four-acre open-air site, set up to protect the island's native birds. It is open from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm every day with no admission fee, and the resort runs complimentary 90-minute tours.
Also called Garden of the Gods: a plateau of red rock towers and boulders, about 45 minutes from Lanai City on a rough dirt road. A 4x4 is essential.
Two miles of empty sand at the end of the Keahiakawelo road. Strong currents make it a beach for walking, not swimming.
Kaiolohia, on the north shore, where the rusting hull of a 1940s ship sits on the reef offshore. Good for a walk and photographs, and reached by 4x4.
Send us your confirmation. A reservation booked directly with the hotel can usually have the benefits added, with the dates, rate, room type and cancellation policy unchanged. Bookings made through an online travel agency cannot be moved.
No fees. Same rate as direct. Rates within 24 hours.
