The Perks

Four Seasons Preferred Partner benefits at Four Seasons Surf Club

The program benefits are the same at every hotel. What changes is what they are worth. This is how each one works at this property.

01

Breakfast for two on Lido Terrace

Full breakfast for two per bedroom, served on Lido Terrace beside the ocean from 7:00 to 11:00 am daily, in Lido Restaurant in the old ballroom, or through in-room dining. Four Seasons values its own Bed and Breakfast package here at up to $120 a day for two, so over a week the breakfast alone is worth up to about $840.

02

$100 hotel credit, $200 in suites

One credit per stay, to use at the hotel's restaurants, Champagne Bar or The Spa. At Champagne Bar it covers a round of cocktails and the tuna arancini; on a Sunday it pays for most of one place at the Lido Terrace brunch, which costs about $125 a person.

03

Upgrade priority

A one-category upgrade when available at check-in. The entry Surf Club Room looks over the courtyard and gardens, and the City-View and Deluxe Surfside rooms face Collins Avenue and the town. The upgrade worth hoping for is to an ocean-facing room, and we note on the booking that a sea view matters more to you than extra space.

04

Early check-in and late checkout

Priority for both. Check-in at Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club is at 4:00 pm, later than at most Florida hotels, and checkout is at noon. We ask for both, and a late checkout gives a last morning at the pool or on the beach.

05

VIP recognition

A welcome amenity and a VIP note on the reservation. We pass on birthdays and anniversaries, children's ages for the welcome gift and Kids for All Seasons, and any request for a cabana or a table at Lido before you arrive.

06

Combines with Four Seasons offers

Preferred Partner benefits apply on top of the hotel's own promotions, such as Stay Longer, which gives a complimentary fourth night with every three paid nights. We check what is available for your dates when we quote.

Advisor Picks

Best rooms to book at Four Seasons Surf Club

Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club has 77 guest rooms, set mostly in Richard Meier's 12-storey glass tower beside the 1930 clubhouse, with all interiors by Joseph Dirand in a palette that echoes sand, sea and sun. Rooms are on floors 5 to 12. What separates the categories is the view: the Atlantic on one side, Collins Avenue and Surfside on the other, and the gardens in between. The residential suites, with kitchens, suit families and longer stays.

Best value

Surf Club Room

The entry room is 40 sq m (435 sq ft) with a king bed and a marble bathroom with a walk-in shower. It looks over the grounds and courtyard rather than the sea, and sleeps two adults, or one adult and one child. A sensible choice if you will spend the day at the pool and the beach.

The room to book

Oceanfront Room

The Oceanfront Room is 60 to 68 sq m (645 to 735 sq ft), on floors 5 to 12, with a furnished balcony and a full wall of glass facing the beach. It comes with a king or two double beds; only the king rooms have a bathtub. This is the category most guests come for, so we book it rather than rely on an upgrade.

Sea and skyline

Ocean-View Corner Room

A 65 sq m (700 sq ft) corner room with a wraparound balcony that looks out to the Atlantic on one side and the city on the other. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and no bathtub, which is worth knowing for families with small children.

Sunsets and space

Deluxe Surfside Room and Surfside Corner Room

The Deluxe Surfside Room is 60 sq m (645 sq ft) on floors 8 to 12, facing west over the town with a balcony for sunsets. The Surfside Corner Room is the largest standard room at 68 sq m (735 sq ft), with city views. The City-View Room, 56 sq m (600 sq ft) on floors 5 to 7, is a lower-floor alternative.

History and quiet

Bungalow

Four bungalows sit on the second floor of the historic Cabana Row, part of Russell Pancoast's original club, just beyond the main building. Each is 39 sq m (415 sq ft) with a king bed, a private balcony facing east or north and room for two adults only.

Families and longer stays

Oceanfront One- and Two-Bedroom Suites

The Oceanfront One-Bedroom Suite is 167 sq m (1,800 sq ft) and sleeps four adults, or two adults and three children; the Oceanfront Two-Bedroom Suite is 186 sq m (2,000 sq ft) with two king bedrooms. Both have a full kitchen, a washer and dryer and an ocean balcony. The Surf Club One-Bedroom Suite, at 90 sq m (965 sq ft) with a kitchenette, is the smaller option.

Groups and big occasions

Marybelle Penthouse Suite and Beach Villa

The Marybelle Penthouse Suite, named after Harvey Firestone's yacht, is 668 sq m (7,200 sq ft) with a private pool and sleeps eight adults. The standalone Beach Villa is 483 sq m (5,200 sq ft) with a private pool, three king and two double beds and room for eight adults and two children. Both are booked by request through us.

Cribs are available in every category and rollaways in most rooms; the Surf Club Room and the bungalows take a crib only. Accessible versions of the City-View Room, Bungalow, Oceanfront Room and the Bay-View and Oceanfront One-Bedroom Suites are available.

Before You Go

Advisor tips for Four Seasons Surf Club

01

Surfside is not Brickell

Four Seasons has two hotels in Miami, and travellers book the wrong one. Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club is a beach hotel in Surfside, north of Miami Beach and next to Bal Harbour. Four Seasons Hotel Miami is a city hotel on Brickell Avenue in the financial district, across Biscayne Bay and about half an hour's drive away, with no beach. Check the address before you pay a deposit.

02

Decide whether you need to see the sea

The tower faces both ways, and the lowest-priced Surf Club Room looks over the courtyard. If waking up to the Atlantic matters, book an Oceanfront Room or an Ocean-View Corner Room outright. If you will be on the beach all day, a west-facing Deluxe Surfside Room on floors 8 to 12 has the sunsets and costs less.

03

Reserve a cabana before you arrive

The 40 day cabanas on Cabana Row have air conditioning, a full bathroom and their own heated pool, and are booked for eight hours, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, for up to four people. Since November 2025 the hotel has listed them at about $1,000 a day, with a summer price of about $550. Weekends and holidays sell out, so tell us your dates when you book the room.

04

Book The Surf Club Restaurant by phone or online, early

Thomas Keller's Michelin-starred restaurant serves dinner only, from 6:00 to 10:00 pm, and takes phone bookings between noon and 6:00 pm. It is popular with Miami residents as well as hotel guests, so reserve before you travel. Champagne Bar takes no reservations; arrive soon after it opens at 3:00 pm (4:00 pm on Sundays) for a table.

05

Le Sirenuse has become Lido

Many articles still describe Le Sirenuse Miami, the Amalfi Coast restaurant that opened with the hotel. The ballroom restaurant is now Lido Restaurant at The Surf Club, a coastal Italian restaurant under Chef Michele Esposito, with Lido Terrace outside for breakfast, lunch and Sunday brunch.

06

Budget for the resort fee, taxes and valet

Booking sites list a resort fee of about $57 per room per night, which covers beach and pool loungers, towels and in-room water and coffee. Taxes come to about 11 percent, made up of Florida and Miami-Dade sales tax and Surfside's 4 percent resort tax, and Surfside adds a 2 percent resort tax on food and drink. Valet parking is charged by the night, and booking sites list it at about $55. We give you the full total with your quote.

07

Use the free bikes and MOKEs

Guests borrow bicycles and electric MOKEs at no charge, and a house car runs to nearby attractions. Bal Harbour Shops are about five minutes away and Surfside's small downtown on Harding Avenue is closer still, so most guests manage without a car. Florida residents can book a residents' rate that includes valet parking.

Where the Credit Goes

Dining at Four Seasons Surf Club

The Surf Club has four restaurants and a bar, most of them in or around the original clubhouse. Two are destinations in their own right: Thomas Keller's The Surf Club Restaurant and Champagne Bar, which recalls the glamour of the club's early years.

Coastal Italian in the old ballroom

Lido Restaurant at The Surf Club

Lido occupies the club's 1930 ballroom and serves coastal Italian dishes such as tagliatelle with Maine lobster and a 14 oz veal Milanese, cooked by Executive Restaurant Chef Michele Esposito from Caserta. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with dinner daily from 6:00 to 11:00 pm. OpenTable named it among the top 100 hotel restaurants in the United States for 2025. Children four and under eat free.

Breakfast, lunch and Sunday brunch

Lido Terrace

The oceanfront terrace serves breakfast daily from 7:00 to 11:00 am, which is where the Preferred Partner breakfast is usually taken, and Mediterranean lunches from noon to 2:30 pm. Sunday brunch, from noon to 2:45 pm, has oysters, live pasta and carving stations and champagne, at about $125 a person.

Thomas Keller, one Michelin star

The Surf Club Restaurant

Thomas Keller's first restaurant in Florida serves continental dishes of the club's heyday, from avocado Louie and lobster thermidor to New York strip steak and a Caesar salad prepared table-side. It received one Michelin star in the first Florida guide in 2022 and holds it in 2026. Dinner is served daily from 6:00 to 10:00 pm.

Cocktails and more than 4,000 wines

Champagne Bar

A palm-fringed room with one of the largest champagne and wine lists in Florida, including Dom Pérignon P2 and P3 and Krug. It was named the best hotel bar in the US in Food & Wine's 2026 Global Tastemakers Awards and placed 61st on North America's 50 Best Bars 2025. Cocktails are served from 3:00 pm (4:00 pm on Sundays) until midnight, or 1:00 am on Fridays and Saturdays, with light dishes until 11:00 pm.

Poolside lunch

Winston's on the Beach

The casual restaurant and pool bar between the pools serves ceviche, lobster rolls and bowls from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Food and drinks are also served at the loungers and on the beach, and children four and under eat free.

On Property

Pools, beach and spa at Four Seasons Surf Club

Fernando Wong's gardens of coconut palms and sea grape run between the clubhouse and the sand, with three heated pools along the way. Pools are open from sunrise to sunset, with attendants from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm in winter and 7:30 am to 7:30 pm in summer.

01

Three pools

The Surf Club Pool, 22 m (72 ft), is for adults only. The Family Pool, 20 m (65 ft), has an oceanfront lawn with games beside it. The Cabana Pool, 13 m (42 ft), is kept for guests who have booked a day cabana. Loungers, sun cream and passed snacks are complimentary, and a gelato cart goes round the pools.

02

The beach

The hotel sits directly on about 274 m (900 ft) of Surfside beach, with loungers, umbrellas and service from the beach team and non-motorised watersports. Surfside's beach is quieter than South Beach, with no road between the hotel and the sand.

03

Cabana Row

The 40 day cabanas line the original Cabana Row of the 1930 club, with rattan furniture, terrazzo floors, air conditioning and a bathroom. A booking includes refreshments, beachside service, bikes and use of the spa's hammam and locker rooms when available.

04

The Spa

Joseph Dirand's spa has six treatment rooms, a hammam, a steam room and sauna and a tea lounge looking over the ocean and gardens. Treatments use Biologique Recherche and Pharmos Natur. It is open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday to Thursday and 9:00 am to 7:00 pm Friday to Sunday. Forbes Travel Guide rated both the hotel and the spa Five-Star in 2026.

05

Fitness and classes

The fitness centre has floor-to-ceiling windows, and the hotel runs complimentary classes such as mat Pilates, yoga flow and a Sunday yoga and sound session, some outdoors on the lawns. Tennis lessons are arranged at courts next door.

06

Kids for All Seasons

The complimentary kids club, in its own space, takes children aged 4 to 12 for crafts and outdoor activities. Babysitting can be arranged through the concierge, and rooms can be set up with cribs, bottle warmers, baby baths and children's robes.

07

Awards

The hotel holds two Michelin Keys and was ranked number 34 on The World's 50 Best Hotels 2024, its first appearance on the list. It is also a Forbes Five-Star hotel with a Five-Star spa.

Timing

When to visit Four Seasons Surf Club

Surfside is warm all year. The choice is between the dry, busy winter and a hot, humid summer when rates and cabana prices fall.

December to April
High season, with dry, sunny days and the highest rates. Art Basel Miami Beach in early December, Christmas and New Year, and spring break in March fill the hotel well ahead, so book early for these weeks.
May
Warm sea, longer days and lower rates than in winter. One of the best months for a beach stay before the summer rains begin.
June to September
Hot and humid, with short afternoon storms and the lowest prices of the year, including the summer cabana price. Hurricane season runs from June to November, so travel insurance is sensible. Sargassum seaweed can wash up in summer; the pools are unaffected.
October and November
The heat eases and the hotel is quieter before the winter season.
